As has happened before, we didn’t confirm Emily till just a few days before the episode was filmed. She lives in Chamonix, so we were back over there in the woods.

Interestingly, we didn’t decide on either the couch surfing or the burp contest until we were actually sat down and filming. In a trial run of the ‘couch surf’, I actually caught my shins on the sofa as I jumped over! This not only caused great pain to my already fucked up, skier shins. It also broke the sofa!! Oops!

The wheelchair backflip

January 24th, 2007

Aaron Fotheringham rides his wheelchair harder than most people ride their boards. This is some wicked and inspiring footage:

Finally!

January 23rd, 2007

Well the snow has finally come! Even down in Morzine now, as we’re inside editing episode 28, the beautiful white stuff is falling outside! It’s not very heavy at the moment, but hopefully higher up into the mountains it’ll be dumping, and it’s apparently snowing all over Europe. If it lasts for a while we may even be able to hit the powder tomorrow morning after releasing #28 to the world…

Well, back to work - gotta get this finished!

The blue screen of death!!!

January 15th, 2007

I’ve been having some laptop issues of late! Why is it every time you think its all sorted, it will wait till I’m at my most vulnerable (e.g. something 99% downloaded) and then hit me with the blue screen of death!

Anybody know what to do about a BAD_POOL_HEADER?? And I mean the geek version, not when your mate mis-cues it and hits you in the face!

An Inconvenient Truth

January 14th, 2007

An Inconvenient Truth DVDHave you seen the film? We watched it the other night, and although thought some of it was a bit exaggerated, decided that we need to stop whinging about the lack of snow and try and do something about it!

Would anyone be into a very short weekly fact, if it was interesting and actually useful, on how we can actively help save the snow?

Episode 27

January 11th, 2007

What can we say, Goldie Lookin’ Chain are officially on another planet! And I wanna go there!
That was the longest interview yet and we had to cut sooo many funny stories out because once you get those guys started they literally don’t stop!

Two stories I would like to have included:

    • The full description of Misty’s Christmas eve when he shat himself and broke two fingers!
    • And the one about the time the wheel fell off their tour bus, whilst they were driving, and cut a cow in half!

Now you probably wouldn’t believe these stories were true, until you meet them, and then you wonder what they were missing out?!That was filmed in the Dragon Lodge, a wicked welsh snowboarding chalet in Tignes, so we popped over to Val again that evening to see the crew.

Had an interesting journey back, resulting in me accidentally reversing the car onto a small mound and getting stuck with just 1 wheel touching the floor! Oops!

      Snooooooow!

      January 6th, 2007

A couloir in AvoriazAs you could see in episode 26, we finally received the snow we had been waiting for and finally got to go and properly check out this resort! It’s siiiiiick, bit weird not knowing our way around. Managed to find loads of powder stashes (things clearly don’t get tracked out half as quick as they do in Val). And even though we were blindly going into unknown terrain, 9 times out of 10 we didn’t end up in a potentially life-threatening situation! Which was nice!

We did get a bit over enthusiastic one day and missed our last lifts home from Chatel, in Switzerland!! Oooooh, that was an expensive taxi!

      Episode 26

      January 4th, 2007

Following meeting Jenny on new year’s eve, she kindly agreed to be on the show at quite last minute. This was a really fun ep to film because it was dumping down down during the links, and when we ran off at the end we did go stright up the hill!

However the snow caused a bit of moisture inside the lens which slightly fogged up one of the angles for the interview. Still worth it for the riding though!

Loads of content for this ep so had to skip eds top 3 for another week.

      2007!!!

      January 1st, 2007

We had a couple of friends over for New Year’s and had heard that the place to be was this hotel slightly out of town. However, we had also heard that it was ticket only and totally sold out.

Undeterred we put our blagging hats on and went on down. We decided that if we were to make some sort of feature of the night for the show they would surely let us in, hence the top 5 hangover cures ;-)

That evening turned out to be a bit of a who’s who of UK snowboarding and managed to sort out most of our guests for the season!

      Free stuff

      December 30th, 2006

Free stuffOne of the perks of doing what we do is receiving the odd packs of free stuff to wear/give away as prizes. As a totally unrelated note, can I just say, if you’re thinking about buying new goggles you can’t go wrong with either Oakley or Dragon!

      Episode 25

      December 27th, 2006

We filmed this one outside the apartment again, but this time with the sofa! We instantly knew this would be the best format, however by the time we had got everything set up we were racing the sun to get the links done.

The interview was really easy because Tim Warwood is officially a very funny guy! The very kind folk at the Park (a snowboard shop in Morzine) let us film in there and the interview literally could have been 20 minutes long and still watchable. However we had to edit it down.

Mr. Warwood would like to add, for the record, that he is not a chauvinistic pig, even though he feels he might have come across that way!

He then went on to say ‘You can’t say anything these days with all these fucking whining feminists about!’ (The final statement was made up.)

      Shoe golf instructional video!

      December 27th, 2006

As discussed on the show, here is the Shoe Golf instructional video. It is the definitive guide to the worlds fastest growing sport (probably!).

Tim Warwood would like to add: !!!!!!!THE VIDEO IS FOR FUN. THE HAIR IS AN IN-BETWEEN STYLE. AND MY VOICE GOES HIGH AT THE END FOR COMEDY VALUE. I’M NOT BEING SERIOUS!!!!!

      Val d’Isere

      December 23rd, 2006

Tim and NickTo celebrate getting the first show out we decided to pop back to Val d’Isere (where we have been based for a couple of seasons) to catch up with friends. It was actually Charlie’s first day on the hill so that was cool, and saw tonnes of guys from last year, so had an amazing time!

Big up Neil! Your blagging skills are second to none, how you got that many people into Dick’s Tea bar for free is beyond me!

      Episode 24

      December 20th, 2006

Filming episode 24The official beginning of the Snowfix season starts here! And a cool start it was, well actually it was fooking freezing! We went to film up in Avoriaz so we could get some snow in the background.

And it actually started snowing, which was ace but made it soooo cold! We ended up having to find some quiet indoors to film the interview because we were worried that Jools was about to drop dead from hypothermia!

The upload for the episode was pretty interesting as well because we were still waiting for the internet to be connected, and because it was quite late the only place we could upload was in a bar in town.

However the rule is internet is free as long as you buy drinks! It took about 5 hours to get all the upload website etc. done so by the time we left we were druuuuuuuunk!

      Episode 23

      December 17th, 2006

So Charlie has arrived in resort so we decided to put out an episode before the official Extreme channel association began to kind of introduce Jools. Just filmed it out the back of the apartment, and actually really pleased with the feel of the three of us, gonna be a good season!
